About the Poem
While walking to class, when I was still in college, I looked up and saw a rainbow, glowing in the sky during that special time when rain and sun dance. These words came unbidden and I wrote them down...I was late to class.
Rainbows |
by Alastair Adamson |
O Glorious Creator, let Thy light be shed And let Thine eyes transform the bluest skies. Surely this light warms each and every head, Freeing truth and fettering lies. Warming thus the corners of the globe Thy loving light itself is evident And tickles my temporal lobe From rainbows, rain and refracted light bent. The arc and breadth of such a won'drous thing High above, it's shape I'll n'er hold; But at this sight does all Creation sing And leadeth me unto Thy pot of gold. Though such visions often come to view, N'er forget to dream thy dreams anew. |
