About the Poem
I live in the country and am surrounded by woods. I love nature. Birds are my favorites. My backyard is full of birds and chipmunks rabbits and squirrels. They bring so much happiness to me. I love my land and my home!
A Window Away |
by Sandi Vander Sluis |
I look out my window what do I see a cardinal, a blue jay and a chickadee They sit on my feeder or in my tree they're fun to watch and company When singing their pretty song my worries and cares are gone Hummingbirds enjoy my flowers succulent nectar they love to devour The chipmunk fills his cheeks with the seeds that he seeks He scurries away back to his den then comes back for seeds again Rabbits run, hop. and play on this wonderful sunny day Mother Nature is a window away I am thankful for this every day |

I often overlook the simple beauty of life when I am running around do my own thing. This poem reminds me to stop and enjoy the simple beauty . God's beauty is present every moment if we just stop and "smell smell the Roses."
