About the Poem

I finally received a picture of my love via snail mail. Her soul is the most beautiful of any person I have ever known. I was most pleased to find that her physical beauty matches her inner beauty. This is for my soulmate, Kari...

Beauty

The birds chirping happily each morning,
The scent of rain on a gentle breeze,
A chittering squirrel building his home,
The rustling of leaves in a forest of trees,
Fluffy white clouds sailing the sky,
The innocent laughter of a playing child,
A skein of geese winging their way south,
A pack of wolves running free and wild,
The rising sun staining the world red,
The grass glittering with morning dew,
A field full of swaying wildflowers,
All of these things remind me of you.
Around me is all the beauty of nature,
Everywhere I look, but still cannot see
Anything in all God's creation
That is more beautiful than you to me.
