About the Poem
I wrote this poem after a long visit with a woman whom I call Grandma. I stared to think about my future and my life, and I ended up writing this poem. I hope you like it!
Look At Me |
by Rachel Branch |
Look at me, what do you see? Do you see how beautiful or ugly I am? Or do you see each tear these old eyes have shed. The horrible grief and wondrous joy? Do you see how hard these wrinkled hands have worked. Do you see the real me? Do you see my life, my hard aches and pain? Do you feel how hard and yet so marvelous my life has been? Of course not. You see an old woman, nothing more. Stop, stop and realize that my life was important and I did make an impression! Life is so very precious and I only wish I knew that sooner. It's up to you now to live and take every moment as an undeserving gift that only God can give. Please don't be like me. Don't take it for granted. Please! |
