About the Poem

This poem is for my one and only son. He was a year old when I wrote it. There were many emotions for me. I hope to write a poem for each year of his life. I never knew such joy could exist.

Wishes For My Angel

My sweet little angel who's just turning one
A whole year's gone by and many to come.
I ask from the Lord for my little boy,
that he should be filled with nothing but joy
The same kind of joy he's given to me,
he's taught me to love unconditionally
My wishes for you are to laugh and to love
and to only be guided by the Lord up above
I love you, my son, and I always will
no matter what happens, I'll be here for you still.

I loved this poem so much. It emcompasses exactly how I feel about my two beautiful boys James aged 8 and Nathan aged 6. It is so well written and beautiful. I cried whilst reading it as it touched me so much. Unfortunately my children were unjustly taken from me by the British social services, because I asked for help because James has autism. I am going to send this poem to them so that they can remember how much their mum loves them so very very much. Thankyou for writing it.
