About the Poem
A description of what may be wanted in a man - expectations, hopes. Personal details that I have shared with my man, Joe.
A Man |
by Anne Clarity |
A man - a single man with the ability to change your entire life, With his scratchy voice that rakes over scores and song along side your white fenced lawn right after dinner. With his worn hands that have worked fourteen hours at the local dock hauling lobster crates all summer long before coming to you. A man - God's most beloved creation, not a simple beast with hair, skin, organs - no a glorious creation, this man. Someone who holds your hand all through your annual dentist appointments with Dr. Dunkleberger, Someone who makes you laugh after a visit to La Salle Street - you're mother - can be such a bitch! Someone who comes to your bed not asking for anything but only to hold you and kiss you good night, This man - who can change your life with such a simple request, and he does. |
