About the Poem

I was inspired by a poem ". 05" which said, "If I had a nickel for every girl who's rejected me I would be the president of the world bank . . . If I had a nickel for every girl who's ever loved me I would be the Worlds Bank's assistant janitor . . . " I wrote this about this girl I'm dating who I have very strong feelings for. She's pretty well off money wise and I'm far from. So this is my way of saying that if I had money I would spend it on her.

Loose Change

If I had a penny
for every time
you've crossed my mind
I'd be the ruler of the free world
If I had a nickel
for every time
I've wanted you near and here
I could buy you what you want
If I had a dime
for every time
I smile when I see you
I wouldn't know what to do
If I had a quarter
for every time
your presence makes my heart skip
I'd spend it all on you
