About the Poem

This poem is inspired by someone that I've never met, who will hopefully, one day, become the love of my life.

I sat up at 3:00am after working the night shift (3pm- 12am) at an airport. After watching so many couples and men walk by, it spontaneously occurred to me that one of these could be "the one."

I Wonder

I wonder . . .
What your voice sounds like?
Is it deep and comforting,
Like the rays of the sun
On the sea on a cool early morning?

Your eyes . . .
Are they dark and deep with a twinkle,
Like the stars in the sky
Of a dark moonlit night?

Your smile . . .
Is it like the arc of a rainbow,
Resting on the horizon for a while
After it had rained a while?

Your laugh . . .
Is it like the morning breeze,
Going through the leaves of trees
After the wrath of a storm?

Your face . . .
Maybe someday I'll see your face,
In some quiet and romantic place?

Or is it just a fantasy
That one day, together we will be?
I wonder . . .
