About the Poem
I wrote this poem about five years ago, when I was a freshman in high school. I wrote it about my first love who was going into the army. I knew that I would not see him for a long time and I always wondered what I would do without him.
What Will I Do? |
by Carrigan |
What will I do when you're gone? Will I sit around Day after day? Thinking of the memories And the things we used to say? Will I lay there staring at pictures At the pieces of you and me? Of the time we spent together? The love that used to be? What will I do when you're gone? Will words of love and hatred Be running through my head? Will I be too weak to walk? Will I lay upon my death bed? Will I be able to go on Without your caring, trusting smile? Will I be trapped in sorrow With a heart full of denial? What will I do when you're gone? Will I lose my confidence? My strength to rise above? Without you by my side Will I be able to love? When you are gone I'll be gone too Because when you leave my life You'll be taking me with you. What will they do when we're gone? |
