About the Poem

This is a poem about love being lost and then love being found once again. It describes my personal relationship with a past friend who I'm still hopelessly in love with. This poem express one's feelings when they return to a place where they found someone they love.

Here I sit, all alone at the place were I once sat with you.
I sit here day dreaming
about the walks, the talks, all the good times we had.
Here I am where it all began.
I sit here imagining us together again,
fantasizing about what we would do

Here I sit all alone at the place were I once sat with you.
As I sit here with tears rolling down my face,
all alone, thinking of you,
Where we'd be, what pleasures would unfold.
Here I sit all alone without you.
I sit here all alone thinking about you and as I sit
you appear, making all my dreams come true.

I have been searching for a suitable poem to read at my father's funeral. You see my mother passed away in February this year and my father was desolate. They had been together fifty years. We truly believe that all he wanted was to be reunited with her and on Fridya 3rd August he got his wish and slipped away in his sleep. I cried when I read this beautiful poem. Thankyou.

My best friend gave up her daughter 19 years ago and just found her again this year. The poem takes me back to a picture I took of her in the hospital with her daughter, and then to all the loneliness and pain she felt living without her, and then back to the joy of having her daughter back in her life.
