About the Poem

This is a poem about a man who worships the love of his life. He knows no other life without her because she has become his life, putting everything from his past too far behind him for him to remember what it was like without her. As he walked through the green valley, everything about her came to his mind. Perhaps she was standing next to him, perhaps he was returning form a journey, but he really felt his love for her in that valley!

Prized Possession

A man walked in a valley,
A valley so green it shimmered like emeralds,
Like the emeralds he saw in her eyes,
The eyes that saw through to his soul,
His tortured soul that saw an end,
An end to everything that he knows
Because he knows nothing without her,
His beautiful, prized possession.
