About the Poem
I live in what I believe to be one of the most beautiful and inspiring places on Earth. Canada is surrounded by beauty. I wrote this poem about someone that I met on- line.
Sometimes it's hard to understand how much I've come to care for, and perhaps love, this man who I have never been able to touch. Yet still, I hold to the hope that someday things will be different.
A Wish |
by Red |
At moments like these when beauty surrounds me and I am silenced by the ever increasing awe of land unmarred by human touch, I close my eyes and I think of you. In the gentle breeze that sways the tips of the eldest grand oak, I feel the warmth of your tentative caresses. And in the faint cry of the blowing wind I hear you whispering in my ear, pledging your undying love. And as the sun sets and nature unfolds its unsurpassable private canvass, I feel your hand in mine. But once I spot the first star of the night the spell woven by an enchanted Earth, fades into the universal darkness. Once again I am alone. Yet a smile passes by my lips. 'First star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might, Have the wish I wish tonight. ' |

I really enjoyed this charming little poem. It is so full of the gentle beauty that this life so freely gives that even loneliness is unable to defeat the hope of better things yet to come. May that wish made on the first star come to fruition.
