About the Poem
I had a vision of this Rose in 1992, I wrote two verses and a few ideas for the ending. Now Feb 13, 2000 it all came clear to me, and its true to the original with the two verses intact and the ending honored.
Petals Of The White Rose |
by James Haley |
Dreaming by the morning moon protected in a tight cocoon so pale in the gloom Petals of the white rose Stretching at the sun light smiles reflecting on its dew drop tiles a glow that's seen for miles The waking of the white rose Delicate as the summer breeze pearly white of royal genes a queen within the garden green the blooming of the white rose Soft as love you give it when hearts should touch a frail friend before the gift of life might end The message of the white rose As we cry these tender woes and say goodbye to them we know they'll fly wherever spirits go On petals of a soft white rose. |

White Roses by James Haley My father's name was James Haley. He passed away 5 years ago. White roses were what we chose for the funeral flowers. This poem, White Roses, which I came upon completely by accident made me feel as if my Dad, James Haley, was saying "Hello". Thank you!

Extremely interesting you received the words of this poem at two times. I'm sure YOU know why that was meant to be. Makes it unique in a really unordinary way. It is indeed beautiful, and goes very, very deep. Lots more here than the "surface words". Nice!

The white rose and all that it stands for has always been close to my heart. I appreciate the way you began with a white rose bud which symbolizes a heart that knows love and then it blooms into this delicate majestic "queen". And a white rose in full bloom symbolized silence in the end. This peom is so wonderfully put together it was worth the 4 years it took to get it together.. :o)
