About the Poem
One of my first poems I wrote about a year ago, got me thinking about how the sun and love are often the same.
Sunshine |
by Maria Byrne |
Beams of light beat down, Set your heart racing, Warm circles of yellow sunshine, Disappear into the deep blue skies, And looks on to its most beautiful self, Though a forever moving mirror, Reflecting importance and power, Yet it looks so delicate, Fragile even, Because by then it's already fading, Dying in the summer evening, Bringing darkness, Leaving me, Leaving me to miss it, I know that one day it will return, Like in the memories I have, Like in Love. |
