Losing Your First Love

My feelings for you grew stronger as the days went by,
you hurt my feelings how could you cheat and lie.

After everything that happened between us,
the one thing that was missing was the trust.

The night you had me over
my heart melted the moment you held me so close to you,
then you dumped me in a heartbeat, leaving me cold and blue.

I cry every second wondering what I did wrong,
I thought we'd last for so long.

I miss not hearing your voice on the phone,
I feel heartbroken and very alone.

why can't we work this out and still be together
you by my side telling me everything will be alright,
why did we have to end and you leave me
speechless on that cold January night?

I still like you a lot and hope one day again soon
you will realize that what we had was special to both you and me,
and that God intended for us to be together
we were meant to be.

this poem was so touching to me. i literally fell into tears. losing some one you really care about is quite painful, and just remembering the "good" times makes me even sadder. i was just recently released by my g/f lizzy, she just didnt realize how much i cared about her and always thought wrong things "the trust was missing". time will conme t mend my broken heart. so painful it is to lose your first love. anyway, i have to say that this poem is quite deep and yet simple, definitely one of the best piec3s of literary arts ive read.

My boyfriend dumped me on Tuesday. I felt like our love was so strong we could get through anything. The reasons he gave were we were going in different directions! I loved him with the whole of my heart. I have recently found out that he cheated on me on a weekend away in Latvia, I respect him enough to have dumped me after that but it shouldn't have got to that point! I loved this poem it explains how i feel. xxx

i can really relate to every word written in this poem. My first love moved away to Bolingbrook, and I tried to keep in touch, but he eventually stopped caring (calling), and I didn't wanna feel like I was stalking/needed him, so eventually I stopped calling too. But EVERYDAY I wanna call/see him.

WOW! I have been searching for someone who really understands what i am going through. Your poem really touched my heart and soul. My first love broke up with me, and two months later i found out why. he was cheating on me with a girl at his school.
