About the Poem

This is a poem that reflects the way I felt after I found out my boyfriend was cheating on me. Isn't that how it always is? Anyway, I was really depressed and had this whole outlook on life like, everything ends, what's the use.

La Fin

There comes a time for all things to end
If you're my lover or if you're my friend
It always happens, somebody's neglected
Or somebody better or worse is selected
You'll say that you hate me and wish I were dead
I'll say I hate you, pouring lies in your head
It's all too strange, I say I don't care

But in your sleep, I've been caressing your hair
I'll brush your hand and know it's not right
'Cause in my head, there's a huge fight
We should break up, you cheated on me,
But then again, I told you to "stay free"

So why do I care, why am I mad?
Am I jealous? Yes, and very sad.
In the beginning we were great friends
But that is where the story ends.
