About the Poem

Leaving my best friend for another country I found that this was what I felt when I began to miss her; knowing that I only get to spend a couple of days a year with her.

Forever Far

You're always in my heart,
Always on my mind,
No matter how deep the water,
You, I always find.
My memories are darkening,
You're getting more unclear,
I've fallen into a tunnel,
But I am not to fear.
Very soon we'll be as one,
Together as we once had been,
Filling our memory boxes,
For another year of being unseen.

This is the BEST poem I have ever read. I have a friend that is gone. She came to this school last year and moved. Ounce she came in the class room we both smiled at each other and were friends ever since. We still call each other, now and then,but all she talks about are her friends at her new school. It really upsets me and now I kind of feel better cause i know that I'm not the only one feeling that way.

I have looking for this poem for a very long time. I scares me to think that a day will come that I may never see my friends again. Now that I'm in ninth grade that nightmare seems to be getting closer all the time. This poem really thouched my, because when I was about 5 years old I lost my best friend, who was also my cousin. She was only 6 months younger than me so we were very close. I am now 15, and it has been 10 years since the death of my friend Megan. Now it seems like many of the memories that I have of her are starting to fade away as my life goes on without her.

Kerry, I really like your poem because I can pretty much relate to it. I left the Philippines about a year and a half ago. It was one of the hardest things that I had to do because I really didn't want to be away from my one and only bestfriend.
